The Bismarck Assessing Division is responsible for valuing all taxable property within the City of Bismarck. This is an ongoing process of gathering and reviewing information, measuring and listing new construction, and analyzing sales of real estate to provide accurate and current values annually. These values are used by the County Auditor to calculate property taxes for the city, county, schools, and parks.
The Assessing Division also processes homestead credit applications for senior citizens and disabled persons, disabled and paraplegic veteran exemptions, disabled exemptions, wheelchair exemptions, blind exemptions, Renaissance Zone exemptions, remodeling exemptions, and new business exemptions. Please contact us for additional information or questions about your value.
The goal of the City Assessing Division is to ensure that all property values are accurate and equitable.
